Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As an Operations Specialist I in the Security Reference Data team, you will be responsible for configuring new fixed income, equity, and equity derivative securities within the Broadridge System to ensure accurate and timely trade execution while maintaining full regulatory compliance. This role establishes you as a subject matter expert in securities operations, where your analytical attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities are essential to success in this dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will play a critical role in supporting RBC’s operations by ensuring the integrity of security data across multiple systems and regulatory frameworks.

What will you do?

  • Securities Configuration and Data Management: Analyze multiple data elements of fixed income, equity, and equity derivative securities across multiple systems to ensure accuracy and timeliness by cross-referencing Bloomberg, ICE, DTC, and other vendor platforms
  • System Setup and Regulatory Compliance: Set up new securities on Broadridge systems to ensure all trades executed in those securities are accurate for financial and regulatory purposes
  • Technical Knowledge Development: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of fixed income, equity, and equity derivative security structures
  • Analysis and Exception Processing: Provide accurate analysis and processing support for exception-based, complex, and highly specialized processes within the Operations department; accurately review, verify, and record data into supporting technology systems
  • Cross-Functional Support and Customer Service: Liaise and provide support for individuals requiring research, problem resolution, or information from other Operations departments, RBC Business Units, external customers, and industry participants; address escalated questions independently or with appropriate guidance
  • Process Improvement and System Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce risk or increase efficiency by suggesting process changes and system modifications; participate in testing and implementation of new systems and processes
  • Training and Mentorship: Train and serve as a resource for other Operations team members

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
