Operations Specialist - Wires
What you will bring
The Operations Specialist - Wires supports the Operations department by processing domestic and international wire activity for client financial institutions. The role completes daily transaction posting and settlement support, coordinates investigations and related service requests, and maintains required operational logs. The position provides timely responses to client inquiries and ensures activity is completed in accordance with bank procedures and established schedules.
Essential Duties
- Wire Transaction Processing and Posting
- Process inbound and outbound domestic and international wire transfers for client financial institutions, including first-line review for suspicious activity.
- Process inbound wire activity and accurately post funds to client Demand Deposit Accounts in a timely manner to support settlement and account balance requirements.
- Perform transactional processing that includes OFAC verification through the Bank’s bank-to-bank communication system in accordance with established schedules.

International and Foreign Exchange Operations
- Process foreign exchange purchase and sale requests for client financial institutions and research balancing discrepancies and inquiries.
- Monitor SWIFT network communications between foreign banks and the Bank and take action on required items.
- Maintain required daily logs related to international wire activity and foreign transaction processing.

Settlement, Monitoring, and Daily Balancing Support
- Monitor Fed account activity and balances to support wire funding and reduce daylight overdraft risk.
- Support daily incoming ACH file settlement processing for the Bank, verify entries for returns or discrepancies, and post applicable international commissions and service charges.

Investigations, Client Support, and Issue Resolution
- Process requests related to wire investigations initiated by vendors or client financial institutions, including compliance concerns, fraud investigations, and non-receipt claims.
- Maintain working dialogue with client banks and vendors regarding international activity and service needs.
- Research and resolve questions, investigations, and technical issues.
- Answer incoming calls and emails professionally, accurately, and within expected timeframes.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications/Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of one (3+) years of bank operations or related experience required
- Experience with transaction processing, balancing, or settlement activities
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail with ability to process high-volume transactions accurately while handling multiple tasks
- Strong verbal, mathematical, and organizational skills
- Visual and auditory skills

Pay Range
$46,000 to $49,000 annually
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
