Company Description
NuGen Sustainable Clearances is a waste clearance and reinstatement company serving Edinburgh and the Lothians with a strong focus on environmental responsibility. Recycling is a standard part of every service, and the team prioritizes donating or up-cycling items that are too good to dispose of. NuGen works closely with charities and up-cycling partners across Central Scotland and continues to build new partnerships. From single item uplifts to full site clearances, teams are trained and equipped to deliver efficient, professional services. The company is committed to offering a trustworthy alternative to unreliable clearance providers and aims to set a new standard in the industry.
Role Description
The Operations Supervisor is a part-time, hybrid role based in the Greater Edinburgh Area, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. This role oversees day-to-day clearance operations, including scheduling jobs, coordinating teams, and ensuring safe, efficient service delivery aligned with NuGen’s environmental standards. The Operations Supervisor monitors job progress, manages resource allocation, and supports staff with clear instructions and guidance. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, tracking performance metrics, resolving operational issues, and communicating effectively with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. The role also contributes to continuous improvement of processes and supports the development of relationships with charities and up-cycling partners.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
