Operations Supervisor
-Multimodal Logistics / Team Supervision / Career Progression- A growing logistics company is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join its multimodal operations team in West Drayton.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, this is a hands-on supervisory role combining shipment management, team supervision, customer service, compliance, and operational improvement. The successful individual will manage their own shipments while supporting the day-to-day activities and development of the wider operations team.
This is an opportunity to take on broader responsibility within a growing logistics environment, with exposure to multimodal operations and the development of new services.

Main Responsibilities
- Manage import, export, and cross-trade shipments from start to finish across air, sea, and road freight
- Supervise and support the daily activities and performance of the operations team
- Monitor operational KPIs and ensure compliance with SOPs, customs, and trade requirements
- Act as the first point of escalation for operational issues and customer concerns
- Coordinate with carriers, customers, overseas agents, and internal departments
- Provide training and guidance to team members while leading by example
- Support workload planning, resource allocation, process improvements, and the development of new logistics services

Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations
- Strong knowledge of import, export, and cross-trade operations
- Experience managing shipments from start to finish
- Experience across air, sea, and road freight
- Good knowledge of customs procedures including bonded, temporary import/export, IPR, OPR and T1
- Strong understanding of Incoterms and trade compliance requirements
- Previous supervisory, team leader, or senior operator experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills
- Experience with CargoWise, Sequoia, CNS, Destin8, or NCTS would be advantageous
- Experience with Ship Spares, pharmaceutical cargo, aerospace parts, dangerous goods, bonded cargo, or project cargo would be advantageous

Conditions
- Location: West Drayton, London
- Working Style: Office-based
- Salary: £30,000–£35,000 per annum depending on experience
- Job Type: Permanent, full-time
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00 (1-hour unpaid lunch break)
- Start: Negotiable
- Benefits: 20 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, company pension scheme, career progression opportunities
