Operations Support Manager

Location: Farlington, Portsmouth

Position Type: Permanent, full-time

Compensation: Competitive salary plus benefits


About the Role

Marlin Environmental is seeking a confident and capable Operations Support Lead to join our team. This is a pivotal role where you’ll lead operations, manage projects, and ensure compliance across our commercial division.

We’re looking for someone with resilience, strong leadership skills, and a thorough knowledge of the industry to help us deliver excellence to our customers and achieve company objectives.

More about the role:

  • Lead and supervise the Marlin Commercial SE team, ensuring efficient use of personnel and resources.
  • Plan, organise, and oversee projects in line with Marlin Environmental Services Quality Procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and waste management regulations, working closely with the SHEQ team.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, surveys, and reports to maintain high standards of safety and quality.
  • Investigate and record incidents, accidents, and complaints, identifying hazards and reducing risks.
  • Chair meetings, toolbox talks, and ensure accurate completion of documentation to customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other teams across the business and E&E group to deliver joint projects and maximise resource utilisation.

  • Proven engineering background with hands-on sector experience
  • Extensive knowledge of ship systems and maintenance programmes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues, workforce, and clients at all levels
  • Experienced in production of accurate quotations and reports in a concise and timely manner as demanded by the customer
  • Ability to perform under multiple pressures
  • Organised, IT-savvy, commercially aware
  • Excellent working knowledge of ISO standards
  • Understanding and knowledge of health and safety at work, experience of implementing safe systems of work, with a track record of managing the health and wellbeing of operational staff.
