Operations Support Manager

Location: Rugby (CV21)

Grade: RCS. M

Shift patterns: Monday-Friday. Evening Shift (14:00-22:00)

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)

Are you a proactive and driven operations professional looking to make a real impact within a fast-paced automotive logistics environment? DHL is seeking an Operations Support Manager to join our dedicated team in Rugby, supporting our exciting partnership with Omoda & Jaecoo. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering operational excellence, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the successful day-to-day management of a growing automotive contract. Working closely with operational leaders and key stakeholders, you'll help ensure outstanding service delivery, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

A Typical Day May Involve

  • Managing a team of up to 30 staff (Warehouse colleagues, First Line Managers and Team Leader)
  • Manage and optimise operational performance against key KPIs, ensuring productivity, quality, service, cost, and customer objectives are consistently achieved
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement through performance analysis, root cause investigation, Kaizen activities, and the implementation of sustainable process improvements
  • Lead a safe, compliant, and high-performing operation by championing a Safety First culture, driving behavioural safety practices, and ensuring adherence to all Health & Safety, security, and environmental standards
  • Provide strong leadership to frontline and supervisory teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, development, and high performance across the site
  • Develop robust resource plans aligned to forecast volumes, ensuring effective workforce deployment, labour utilisation, succession planning, and coaching opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a key operational contact while delivering service excellence, regular performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure operational processes, SOPs, training programmes, and compliance requirements are maintained to support a best-in-class operation
  • Partner with the customers and key stakeholders to drive employee engagement, recognition, wellbeing, and business growth opportunities while supporting long-term contractual success

This Role Would Suit People Who

  • Have previous warehouse management experience within a fast-paced logistics operation
  • Have proven leadership experience as a Team Leader/First Line Manager/Shift Manager
  • Have strong people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Have excellent communication skills, professionalism, and strong attention to detail
  • Have experience working in a high-volume, high-pressure environment and managing demanding customer relationships
  • Are confident, resilient, and able to remain professional when challenged
  • Have strong analytical skills, including Excel (pivot tables and data analysis) and Microsoft Office
  • Have experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ideally Manhattan
