Introduction
An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the successful Superdrug Supply Chain; working within one of our busy Distribution centres as a Team Leader.
This vacancy is for the Stead House Distribution Centre; based in Darlington The hours of will we be predominantly as stated above but flexibility will be required across all other shift patterns.

About The Role
A Team Leader is a member of Management who supports the Shift Managers with the Daily management/coordination of site operations; assisting with leading a team within a designated area of the Distribution Centre.
Our operation at SHDC provides stock to over 200 stores across the Savers Stores Network. As you can expect this is a fast paced role in a busy environment.
A passion for results will ensure that all specified standards are maintained; if not exceeded.
Working as “One Team” to ensure that operational efficiencies are identified and maximised; encouraging Growth & Innovation within the team, utilising appropriate resource and safe working practices; to help create a Supply Chain that makes our customer smile!
Key Roles And Responsibilities
- To take ownership of all People Management issues for colleagues within their area of responsibility, engaging with the shift manager and people team, ensuring fair and consistent approach to all company processes, policies and procedures
- To motivate, coach & develop a team of colleagues; to enable them to carry out their duties in the most effective & efficient way, utilising all appropriate training and development tools.
- Full accountability and responsibility for nominated KPI’s, pertaining to the area within which you manage, communicating KPI status on a regular basis with the shift Manager.
- To continuously review and develop specified processes within your area of responsibility, maximising efficiencies, communicating the Management team for implementation.
- Working collaboratively with the Health & Safety team to build and update all safe systems of work and risk assessments, for your area of responsibility; ensuring that all changes/updates are effectively communicated.
- To deliver an effective and seamless shift handover to the oncoming team
- To engage the Shift Manager in timely updates on daily progress within your area of responsibility, identifying and resolving areas of concern
- Role model a site culture that demonstrates our company values
- Be an ambassador for driving good health & safety practices across all team.
- Assisting shift manager and fellow colleagues with ad hoc projects and reports when required. Deputise as Shift Manager when required.
- Conduct team briefings where required.

- To collaborate fully with fellow Team Leaders, Shift Managers and colleagues to support business performance.
- Excellent planning and project management skills
- Excellent analytical and IT skills
- Proven Management experience within a distribution environment or similar
- Ability to communicate and engage effectively, with team and colleagues.
- Strong people management skills
- Good understanding of cost reports, operational efficiencies and cost management
- Sound knowledge of warehouse management systems
