Operations Technician

Permanent | Sedgefield | £26,409 – £32,809

About the Role

We are seeking an Operations Technician to join a busy Operations team, supporting the day-to-day running of facilities, safety, quality, and operational activities across a highly regulated technical environment.

This is a varied and fast-paced role that sits at the heart of site operations. No two days are the same. One day you may be coordinating maintenance schedules and contractor visits, the next you could be supporting quality documentation, communicating operational updates across the site, or helping to manage health and safety activities.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring operations run smoothly by supporting processes, systems, facilities, and people across multiple buildings and technical teams.

This role would particularly suit:

  • An experienced laboratory technician looking for a broader operational role
  • An operations coordinator or administrator from a technical environment
  • A proactive STEM graduate with strong organisational skills and an interest in operations, quality, or health & safety

What You'll Be Responsible For:

Operations & Facilities Support

  • Support the day-to-day running of site operations activities
  • Coordinate maintenance, servicing, and contractor visits across laboratories and facilities
  • Work closely with technical teams to schedule activities that minimise disruption to project work
  • Support asset management and maintenance activities through business systems and processes

Quality & Compliance

  • Support Quality Management System (QMS) activities and document control processes
  • Assist with document updates, change requests, quality records, and operational documentation
  • Help ensure operational processes are followed correctly and consistently
  • Maintain accurate records and support quality reporting activities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
