Summary

Green Aggregates, part of the VINCI Group, is an innovative business producing aggregates by repurposing road planings. We combine innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence to deliver high-quality materials that support the country's infrastructure and road networks.

As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency, we are seeking a proactive Plant Operative to join our dedicated production team.

The successful candidate will be expected to operate and maintain the processing plant in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. They will ensure that all repurposed products are produced to the highest quality standards while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence at the plant.

This role would suit an individual who is a safety-conscious team player looking for a rewarding career in production.

Shifts would be split between day and nights covering weekend works when required.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include

  • Operating the control system in accordance with production schedules to work with Green Aggregates quality standards.
  • Monitor, control, and adjust plant settings to ensure consistent production and compliance with production specifications.
  • Carry out daily plant inspections and ensure all equipment is maintained to safe operating standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic repairs in line with planned maintenance schedules.
  • Load and manage incoming raw materials.
  • Maintain accurate production and stock records, ensuring traceability and compliance with company systems.
  • Liaise with the Quality Control team to ensure that all products meet technical and customer requirements.
  • Promote and adhere to Green Aggregates health, safety, and environmental standards, reporting any incidents or near misses immediately.
  • Support the continuous improvement of site operations and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Undertake other site duties as required, including mobile plant operation if appropriately trained, full training given.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in recycling, quarrying, asphalt production or a similar heavy plant operation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with plant control systems.
  • Awareness and understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Mobile or fixed plant qualifications (Loading Shovel, Telehandler, or similar).
  • Basic mechanical or electrical maintenance skills.
