Are you looking for an exciting opportunity where your skills will shine and your ideas will shape the future?

At Grundon, we are on the lookout for a dynamic, passionate, and driven individual to join our Resource & Recovery team based in Bristol.

This is more than just a job, it’s an opportunity to join a company that is here to show the world that there is more to waste than it seems. Here your contributions will make a real difference as we work towards our shared vision to unlock the potential of waste whilst we are dedicated to leaving a better planet for future generations.

Reporting into the Waste Transfer Manager, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the waste transfer facility, helping to minimise downtime and achieve KPIs. You will also maintain high health and safety standards and carry out tasks in line with the planned preventative maintenance programme.

On occasions, the jobholder may be requested to work extra hours covering holidays, bank holidays or sickness and potentially undertake any extra duties required for the operation of the facility.

What will you do

  • Safely operate and carry out daily inspections of mobile plant, completing scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Inspecting waste deliveries to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Record and report any non-compliant waste through non-conformance reports.
  • Load recovered materials into containers, walking floor trailers, and other vehicles for onward transport, ensuring all documentation is accurately completed and loads are photographed in line with legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to support the manager/supervisor in maintaining a clean, safe, and organised site.
  • Take responsibility for health and safety, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and promptly report any health, safety, or environmental concerns.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
