Do you want to be part of a team that plays a vital role in keeping production running smoothly? At Vitacress, we're looking for a reliable and hardworking Operative in our Logistics & Despatch areas to support the smooth running of our production and storage areas. This is an important role that helps ensure waste materials, crates, pallets, and rejected products are removed efficiently, recycled responsibly, and managed safely, while maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping and hygiene.

In this role you'll...

  • Play a key role in keeping our production and storage areas safe, organised, and free from waste.
  • Support the efficient operation of the site by ensuring waste and recyclable materials are managed correctly.
  • Help maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and food safety across the business.
  • Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to ensure production areas remain clean and operational.
  • Operate equipment and machinery safely and effectively following site procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are a priority.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Take ownership of your training and development to support flexibility across the operation.

You'll do this for us by...

  • Removing waste cardboard, plastic, pallets, and crates from production and storage areas in a timely manner.
  • Compacting and baling recyclable materials to ensure the site remains clear of waste.
  • Weighing, recording, and disposing of waste product in accordance with company procedures.
  • Operating machinery safely, accurately, and effectively, reporting any faults or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards by cleaning as you go and keeping work areas tidy.
  • Following all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and site operating procedures.
  • Reporting any operational, safety, or team-related concerns to your Supervisor or Manager.
  • Ensuring training records are kept up to date and all required training is completed before undertaking new tasks.

You can do this if you have...

  • A positive, flexible attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Previous warehouse, logistics, despatch, or manufacturing experience, or the motivation to develop a career in this area.
  • A responsible, dependable approach, good levels of fitness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
