About the Role

Our client is a provider of plant hire and specialist attachments to the construction industry across the UK and Ireland. They offer a comprehensive range of modern plant and machinery, with a strong focus on customer service, safety, innovation and supporting clients across a variety of construction projects.

They are seeking an experienced Operator Recruiter to join their team. You will be responsible for sourcing, screening and onboarding skilled plant operators, ensuring the right people are available to meet operational and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit plant operators across a range of disciplines, including excavators, dumpers, rollers, and specialist plant.
  • Source candidates through job boards, databases, referrals, training providers, industry networks, and direct approaches.
  • Screen candidates and assess experience, qualifications, and relevant certifications.
  • Work closely with depot managers, Operations, and project teams to understand current and future staffing requirements.
  • Act as the main point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and systems.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified operators.
  • Support workforce planning by identifying skills gaps and future recruitment needs.
  • Promote internal progression, upskilling, and redeployment opportunities.
  • Support referral initiatives and promote the business as an employer of choice for plant operators.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in recruitment, resourcing, or talent acquisition.
  • Experience within construction, plant hire, logistics, or infrastructure would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work at pace and manage multiple vacancies simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Comfortable working closely with operational teams and candidates.

What We’re Looking For

  • A driven and proactive recruiter who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Someone who can build strong relationships with candidates, depot managers, and operational teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A results-focused approach with the ability to manage competing recruitment requirements.
  • An understanding of plant operators, construction, or similar operational recruitment would be highly desirable.

This role is ideal for an experienced Recruiter or Resourcer looking to specialise in operator recruitment and play a key role in supporting the workforce of a leading plant hire business.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 7:30am – 6:00pm
  • 1 in 4 Saturdays: 7:30am – 1:00pm

Pay/Salary

  • Competitive salary and package, dependent on experience
