The Role of the Operator Trainer
The role of the Operator Trainer contributes to the success of LGB by providing effective and timely training within the Liebherr Training Services based at the Biggleswade test centre and will involve travel to other locations in the UK and worldwide. In doing so, the role, reporting to the Training Manager, will ensure that courses will be offered in line with customer demands and changes in standards and legislation whilst working within the Company’s key result areas; Business Performance, Customer Focus, People and Teamwork, Leadership.
Your Responsibilities As An Operator Trainer
- Carry out familiarisation training on Liebherr mobile and crawler cranes
- Carry out training for several courses including Appointed Person, Mobile Crane and Slinger / Signaller in UK and overseas according to demand
- Complete CPCS testing and marking test papers
- Complete NVQ assessments and paperwork
- Provide demonstrations of cranes for customers
- Carry out Lifting equipment examinations at Liebherr GB locations
- Attend trade shows and functions to promote Liebherr Training Services
- Attend CPD events to improve training skills
- Support Sales and After Sales for Liebherr Mobile Crawler Crane products
- Prepare lesson plans and develop courses

To be Successful in the Operator Trainer Role
The successful candidate will require the following:
- Satisfactory completion of a recognised apprenticeship in a related industry to NVQ level 2
- CPCS card with mobile crane category for at least 5 years
- GCSE passes grades A-C (9-4) in Mathematics and English
- CPCS tester and trainer card would be an advantage
- Smart and well presented
- Project the correct image of the company
- Team player
- Good communicator at all levels
- Flexible approach to work
- Strong customer service ethic with a positive and proactive approach
- To be able to travel UK, Ireland and overseas as required
