Band 5 Registered Nurse – Ophthalmology

Are you a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse looking to develop specialist skills in a rewarding and supportive environment?
We are seeking an enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our expanding Ophthalmology Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work across our outpatient clinics, Eye Care Centre and day surgery services, caring for patients with a wide range of ophthalmic conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and urgent eye presentations.
Whether you already have experience in ophthalmology or are looking to develop a specialist career, we offer a structured induction programme, in post training and ongoing support to help you build advanced clinical knowledge and practical skills within this highly specialised field.
Positions Available
- 37.5 hours permanent position
- 27 hour permanent position
- 37.5 hours fixed-term 12-month Maternity cover

About The Role
Provide high quality, safe and compassionate care to patients attending ophthalmology outpatient clinics, Eye Care Centre and day surgery services.
- Undertake ophthalmic assessments, investigations and treatments including visual acuity, visual fields and OCT testing.
- Support patients throughout their pathway from admission and pre-operative assessment through to discharge.
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team and participate in the departmental on-call rota.
- Support students, new staff and unregistered colleagues while maintaining excellent patient-centred care.
