Ophthalmic Technician
Days: Saturday & Sunday
Hours: 08:00 – 18:00
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to support weekend breast clinics in Hampshire. Working alongside consultants and registered healthcare professionals, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care within a professional outpatient setting.
Key Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working within an Ophthalmology outpatient setting.
- Ability to perform visual acuity assessments using Snellen and LogMar charts.
- Ability to perform visual field testing, including 24-2 and 10-2 protocols.
- Ability to perform Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) using the Heidelberg machine.
- Ability to perform Anterior Segment OCT using the Heidelberg machine.
- Ability to perform retinal imaging using the Optos.
- Experience supporting consultants during a range of Ophthalmology procedures and treatments.
- The ability to undertake and record patient observations accurately.
- Strong clinical documentation and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while providing excellent patient-centred care.
