Vrijdag 22 juni is het nieuwgebouwde gemaal de Mijzen opgeleverd en in gebruik genomen.

Het oude gemaal Mijzen was sterk verouderd en leverde omwonenden behoorlijk veel geluidsoverlast op.

Het nieuwe gemaal is onderdeel van de waterkering. Gemaal de Mijzen maalt overtollig polderwater naar de Schermerboezem. Het gemaal is uitgerust met 2 visvriendelijke vijzels. Naast het gemaal is een vispassage opgenomen, zodat de vissen kunnen migreren van de boezem naar de polder.

In opdracht van hoofdaannemer Gebr. Beentjes GWW B.V. heeft Vlaar het elektrotechnische gedeelte van het nieuwe gemaal voor haar rekening genomen. De werkzaamheden van Vlaar omvatte het leveren, installeren, testen en bedrijfsklaar opleveren van de complete elektrotechnische installatie, inclusief de aardingsinstallatie.
