Satellite Communications Technician – TCS, Oakhanger/Bordon
Location: TCS Oakhanger, Bordon Salary: Competitive package with extensive benefits
About the Role
Ready to shape a safer, more connected future? As a Satellite Communications Technician at TCS (operating under Serco), you’ll provide real-time support for critical satellite ground and communication systems, vital for global security and connectivity. This role connects you to the United States Space Force (USSF) while delivering meaningful impact—whether ensuring uninterrupted operations or maintaining infrastructure that safeguards national assets.
--- ## What You’ll Do
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating and configuring satellite ground and communication systems in real time, ensuring 100% performance reliability.
- Conducting routine maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and fault rectification.
- Completing Document Reviews, Risk Assessments, and Planned General Inspections to support safe operations.
- Engaging in technical discussions with USSF stakeholders and Serco colleagues.
- Assuming senior representative roles in designated areas after certification.
- Fulfilling shift (or call-out) responsibilities—whether as a Day or Shift Technician.
- Mentoring new team members through structured training.

Key Requirements
Ideal candidates will have:
- GCSE Grade C (4+) in Maths and English.
- Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent technical background.
- Experience in testing and troubleshooting within electronics, electrical, mechanical, IT, or radio frequency (RF) disciplines.
- A willingness to obtain and maintain Security Clearance.
- Commence CompTIA Security+ certification (training provided) and pursue Crypto Authorisation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
