Job Title: Project Managers

Package: Competitive Salary + Benefits

Role Type: Permanent, Fulltime, On-site working will be required at QinetiQ Malvern or customer/supplier premises within a 30 mile radius

The Roles:

As a Project Manager, Senior Project Manager or Programme Manager, you will join our National Security business, leading the delivery of complex, high-impact projects across cyber and secure government environments. Working alongside customers, partners and technical specialists, you will help deliver innovative solutions to some of the UK's most complex challenges.

Day-to-day, you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of projects to agreed baselines, developing strong customer relationships, supporting business growth opportunities and contributing to the achievement of business objectives. We are open to applications from experienced project professionals at different stages of their career and will provide opportunities for development and progression within our growing business.

We are also open to candidates who have worked within the National Security sector in adjacent or transferable roles and may not have held a formal Project or Programme Management position. If you have experience leading teams, running agile delivery sprints, managing operations, coordinating complex activities or engaging with customers and stakeholders, we'd be keen to hear how your skills could translate into a project management career at QinetiQ.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the successful delivery of projects and programmes within agreed scope, schedule and budget
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with customers, partners and suppliers
  • Managing project performance, risks, opportunities and dependencies to achieve successful outcomes
  • Maintaining financial forecasts and resource demand plans to support effective project delivery
  • Applying project governance and lifecycle management processes, including project reviews and assurance activities
  • Supporting business growth through customer engagement, follow-on opportunities and bid activities
  • Providing clear and effective reporting on project progress, risks and performance to key stakeholders

Essential experience:

  • Experience delivering projects within a complex customer environment
  • The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build strong working relationships
  • Experience managing project risks, schedules, finances and resources
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
  • Experience working with internal teams and external partners to achieve project outcomes
  • Previous experience working within National Security

Qualifications:

  • APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent project management qualification, or the willingness to work towards one
  • Current relevant clearance

The roles are 37 hours per week, with your time split between our Malvern site and customer locations as required.

The Malvern facility is noted for its work in electronic warfare, surveillance and complex system integration, contributing significantly to the UK's defence capabilities. Developing technologies for military and civilian applications, including sensors, communications and cyber security.
