Role Description

As an Optical Assistant at Specsavers in Urmston, you will support customers with frame selection, lens options, and product information, ensuring they receive clear, friendly guidance throughout their visit. You will assist with pre-screening tests, prepare patients for eye examinations, and help maintain accurate customer records. The role includes handling bookings, managing queues, processing payments, and keeping the store clean, organized, and well-presented. You will work closely with optometrists and colleagues to deliver excellent customer service and meet customer satisfaction targets. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Urmston.

  • Strong customer-facing abilities, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills.
  • Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills to support customers and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Interest in or basic knowledge of Optometry, with a willingness to learn about optical products and services.
  • Ability to work in a busy retail environment, managing multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Previous experience in optical, retail, or healthcare settings is beneficial but not essential; full training can be provided.
  • Comfortable using point-of-sale systems and booking software, with basic computer literacy.
  • Reliability, a professional attitude, and a strong focus on delivering inclusive, respectful customer care.
