You will also receive:
- We are a team of eight.
- This role is ideal for someone with or without previous experience working in optics. We are happy to train the right person.
- This role requires you to work on Saturdays (09:00–13:00).
- 4.5 days per week (36.5 hours)
- Your birthday off work

About the Role
We are looking for an Optical Assistant to join us in delivering outstanding patient care, 4.5 days a week including Saturdays.
You will be an integral part of our team, helping us enhance our services while continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people, building trust with patients, and being part of a supportive, tight-knit team. You’ll have the time and freedom to do your job properly by providing honest, expert care. Working closely with the rest of the team, you’ll help create a smooth and positive experience for every patient who walks through the door. You’ll assist with day to day practice tasks, support patients with queries or concerns, contribute to the upkeep of displays and equipment, and be a friendly, reliable point of contact for both patients and colleagues. Above all, you’ll bring a genuine interest in people, an eye for detail, and a caring, can do attitude to every part of your day. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who takes pride in great service — and who brings warmth, care, and expertise to every interaction.

Established in Stotfold in 1984, Paul Adler Optometrist expanded by opening a second practice in St Albans in 2006. We are a family-friendly practice offering eyecare services for all ages. We provide a comprehensive service and take great care to ensure our patients receive the attention they need. With a strong focus on patient care and service, our team of experienced opticians is dedicated to providing the highest quality eye care. Our optometrists and vision care specialists are well-respected in the optical profession for their extensive knowledge.
