Our store

The Specsavers store in Dorchester is a busy and customer-focused optical and audiology practice, dedicated to delivering outstanding eye and hearing care to the local community. Situated in the heart of Dorchester town centre, the store combines advanced clinical technology with a friendly and inclusive environment, ensuring every customer receives expert advice and personalised service. The location benefits from excellent transport links, with Dorchester South and Dorchester West railway stations both within walking distance, providing connections to Weymouth, Bournemouth, Southampton and Bristol. The store is also well served by local and regional bus routes, making it easily accessible for those travelling from across Dorset. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, professional development and community engagement, Dorchester Specsavers offers a fast-paced and rewarding workplace where colleagues are empowered to make a positive difference every day.

  • Full Time - 40 hours a week, to include working a weekend day

Your on-the-job training will sit alongside structured learning and at the end of the 15-18 months as an apprentice, you’ll be a fully-fledged Optical Assistant. 

Who is this Apprenticeship for?

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, please take a moment to check you meet the criteria below before applying:

  • You have GCSEs in Maths at grades 9–4 (A*–C), or an equivalent qualification
  • You’ve lived in the EU for at least 3 years and have the right to work in the UK
  • You’re not currently enrolled in another government-funded course
