Specsavers in Wick are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our store due to continued growth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, hard-working team. There is an initial probationary period to make sure the job is right for you and on passing the probation wages are increased and are competitive with annual increases. Full training will be given as the job is varied in scope, so there is always something to do.

The job will involve working on Saturdays, but staff are rota'ed to have regular Weekends off spread throughout the staff. Candidates will be considered from 2 days out of seven up to 4/5 out of seven depending on finding the right candidate to gel with the current team.

The job is a mix of medical and retail, so it is unique. The job involves working with the public to perform tests to assess their health and vision to aid the Optometrists to advise them what is best. You will learn all about what is required to help people pick glasses and contact lenses. There are lots of possibilities for advancement along different paths which can be discussed, but there are plenty of areas where further development can be achieved, and a career made. Any further clinical training is also rewarded by an increase in the hourly rate on completion.

We are looking for someone with a passion for helping people and are keen to learn the ins and outs of Optics and thrive in a unique environment. No experience is required as full and thorough training is provided, but basic math skills would be of benefit and good service skills essential. There is a lot to do but full support will be given to the successful candidate.
