Optical Consultant Wells, Somerset

About the Role

Active Force Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected optical retailer for an experienced Optical Consultant to join their team in Wells, Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced optical professional who enjoys working with customers, has a passion for delivering outstanding service and wants to build a long-term career within the optical sector. You'll play an important role in helping customers find the right eyewear and optical solutions for their individual needs, working closely with the wider clinical team to provide a seamless experience from initial consultation through to collection.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Optical Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming customers and delivering an exceptional customer experience
  • Building strong, lasting relationships with customers
  • Understanding customers' individual vision, lifestyle and eyewear requirements
  • Recommending suitable frames, lenses, contact lenses and accessories
  • Providing clear and professional advice on products, features and pricing
  • Supporting customers through the selection and purchasing process
  • Ensuring orders, fittings and collections are completed accurately
  • Working closely with the clinical team to ensure customers receive the right solutions
  • Handling customer queries and resolving any issues professionally
  • Maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance and customer care
  • Supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team environment
  • Working towards and achieving individual and team sales targets

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced and customer-focused optical professional who can bring both knowledge and enthusiasm to the role. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience as an Optical Consultant, Optical Assistant or within an optical retail environment essential
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • A confident and professional approach when dealing with customers
  • Experience recommending optical products and working towards sales targets
  • The ability to explain technical information in a clear and easy-to-understand way
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right first time
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • A positive, friendly and professional attitude
  • A genuine passion for helping customers find the right products for their needs
