Active Force Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established optical practice in Wells for an experienced Optical Manager.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in optics who enjoys leading a team and delivering excellent customer service. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the practice, supporting your team, and ensuring patients receive a high standard of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the optical practice
- Lead, support and develop the optical team
- Ensure excellent customer service is delivered at all times
- Assist customers with choosing suitable frames and lenses
- Oversee the fitting, adjustment and repair of eyewear
- Manage stock levels and order optical supplies when required
- Maintain accurate patient records and appointment schedules
- Carry out or oversee basic laboratory procedures, including lens edging and fitting
- Ensure the practice complies with health and safety standards

About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working in an optical practice
- Experience managing or supervising a team
- Good knowledge of optical products, dispensing and laboratory procedures
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A strong focus on customer care
- Good attention to detail

Relevant optical qualifications or an Ophthalmic Dispensing qualification would be an advantage but are not essential.
Location
Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Wells, Somerset, or be willing to relocate before starting.
