The Heidelberg Materials (HM) International Business Service Centre (BSC)
The HM International Business Service Centre (BSC) provides administrative, transactional and accounting services to in-scope HM companies.
Our Chipping Sodbury Office
Our Chipping Sodbury office is located close to the market town of Yate, offering a range of local amenities and attractions. Set within picturesque rural surroundings, it provides an idyllic and welcoming workspace environment. The location also benefits from excellent transport links, with easy access to both the M4 and M5, making commuting convenient from a wide area.

The Role: Optimisation Manager
The Optimisation Managers will work to optimise end to end processes and systems, to support delivery of the Heidelberg Materials synergies and automation roadmap.
Subject Matter Expertise
- Operating as the BSC expert on allocated systems and processes, with detailed knowledge and conceptual understanding of relevant business systems
- Provide technical leadership and advice on issue resolution to the in-scope businesses where relevant
- Provision of SME input to support training for new transitions, system roll outs and BSC team development
- Responsible for optimising of process across multiple countries and systems
End to End Process Redesign
- Translate high level process definition into efficient and effective end to end processes.
- Working with Local Countries and GPOs to test and implement updated processes, including close monitoring and management of hyper care issues arising.
- Validate process changes across the BSC, to ensure that no new variants are created, and all changes increase alignment to group standards.
- Drive the reduction in variants in assigned area, to increase standardisation and future automation potential.
Stakeholder and Project Management
- BSC representative at SteCo and multi country / discipline Project Teams to ensure that decisions are aligned to group standards and no new variants are created
- Leading SteCo and Project meetings for BSC lead initiatives
- Drive relevant project progress, to ensure that they deliver to time, and in line with projected benefit cases.
- Escalation to Transaction Managers of any emerging risks relating to project delivery or local country alignment.
