Job Description
Company Overview
Youngquist Investments is a proprietary trading firm headquartered in Fort Myers, Florida, trading exclusively on firm capital. We engage a select group of independent consultants to originate options trade ideas for our trading desk.
Role Overview
Consultants research, structure, and submit fully specified options strategies. The firm's in-house execution traders place every order, manage every position through its life including the close, and maintain P&L attribution for each consultant. Consultants never execute trades, never access firm accounts, and do not buy or sell the underlying. The value you deliver is the idea itself, and your compensation rises and falls with how those ideas perform.
The market is US-listed options. You may work from anywhere and set your own hours, but your ideas must be actionable in US market hours.
What You Deliver
- Executable written trade ideas: underlying, structure, strikes, expirations, and net debit/credit targets
- A complete plan for each idea — entry, exit, maximum loss, and adjustment or stop conditions
- Sizing rationale consistent with margin requirements and the firm's risk parameters
- A clear thesis: why this trade, why now, and what invalidates it
- Steady written idea flow — specific research deliverables are set in the Consulting Agreement
Scope of Ideas
- Multi-leg listed options strategies — verticals, iron condors, put and call credit spreads, calendars, diagonals, and margin-eligible short-premium trades. Defined risk on both sides.
- Every idea must be executable in a standard margin account under the firm's risk rules. This mandate rewards consultants who genuinely understand options structure and pricing. It is not a fit for directional stock pickers, and single-leg directional option buying is outside the mandate.
- If your experience is in index options on another exchange — NSE, Eurex, TSX, or elsewhere — that transfers. The structures are the same; the underlyings are different.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Who Succeeds Here
- Deep command of options pricing: the Greeks, implied vs. realized volatility, skew and term structure
- Fluency in margin mechanics and defined-risk trade construction
- A verifiable track record — or a rigorous, repeatable process you can defend line by line
- Disciplined risk framing: every idea arrives with its maximum loss already known
- The ability to communicate a complete trade plan in writing, unambiguously
Compensation
Compensation is performance-based and paid under the firm's standard Consulting Agreement. You are paid a percentage of the realized net trading profits attributable to your executed ideas, after fees and applicable reserves. There is no base, no draw, and no guaranteed minimum. Payment is in USD.
This structure suits consultants who want their income tied directly to the quality of their ideas. It is not a salaried role and is not a fit for anyone who needs guaranteed income. Full payout mechanics and timing are provided during the engagement process.

Independent Contractor Notice
This is an engagement for professional services, not employment. Consultants determine their own methods, hours, and place of work; receive no employee benefits; and may maintain other clients and engagements, subject to confidentiality obligations and a strict prohibition on front-running the firm's executions.
Non-US consultants complete a Form W-8BEN, are paid in USD by wire transfer to a bank account held in their own name, and are solely responsible for any taxes owed in their own jurisdiction. No tax is withheld by the firm. Consultants are responsible for confirming that this engagement is permitted under their own local law and under any existing employment agreement.
To Apply
Send your résumé along with a brief summary of your options track record or your idea-generation process. If you have a track record, a percentage return over any period is enough — balances may be redacted. If you do not, describe your process instead; a documented process is acceptable in place of a record.
Selected candidates complete a short online assessment and then walk the desk through recent trade ideas — winners and losers alike.
