Join Our Team at Wallace Opticians in West Lothian!

Role: Optometrist
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Part-time and full-time opportunities (Maximum 37.5 hours)
Location: West Lothian
Salary: £55K-£70K FTE based on experience

We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional Optometrist to join our expanding, patient-focussed team at Wallace Opticians, which has successfully served the Whitburn community for over 55 years. You will be a valued and important member of our friendly team. We pride ourselves on prioritising high-quality patient care within our well-established independent practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough eye examinations, utilising up-to-date technology including OCT
  • Tailor professional advice and recommendations to the unique needs of each patient
  • Uphold the highest standard of patient care, prioritising patient comfort and trust
  • Work collaboratively with our supportive practice team to surpass patient expectations
  • Communicate effectively with external healthcare professionals as needed
  • Engage in continuous professional development to remain at the forefront of the field
  • Play a key role in your store’s team, bringing energy and insight to every customer and staff team interaction

What We Need You to Bring to Our Team

  • We’re looking for Optometrists who are confident, compassionate, and always focused on doing the right thing for patients
  • GOC registered
  • Ability to be registered to provide General Ophthalmic Services in Lothian
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Values building positive professional relationships with colleagues and patients
  • Independent Prescriber qualified (or motivated to complete this)
