Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Bootle. The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including vision assessments, ocular health checks, and contact lens fittings, following current clinical guidelines and best practices. The role includes interpreting test results, diagnosing and managing common eye conditions, and providing clear, empathetic advice and recommendations to customers. The Optometrist will work closely with retail and clinical colleagues to ensure a smooth patient journey, accurate prescriptions, and high standards of customer service. Additional responsibilities may include record keeping, supporting pre-registration colleagues, participating in clinical audits, and contributing to continuous improvement of store performance and patient care.

Qualifications

- Recognized Optometry degree and full registration (or eligibility for registration) with the relevant professional body or licensing authority.
- Strong clinical skills in eye examinations, contact lens fitting, and detection and management of common ocular conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain clinical findings clearly and support customers in making informed choices.
- Commitment to person-centered care, including a focus on accessibility, respect, confidentiality, and high-quality customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping, including use of digital systems and clinical documentation.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development, training, and learning to maintain and enhance clinical competencies.
- Previous experience in a community or retail optometry setting is beneficial but not essential; new graduates and experienced optometrists are encouraged to apply.
