We're looking for friendly, organised individuals who enjoy helping others, communicating clearly and working in a busy but supportive clinical environment. No previous experience in eye care is required — just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. Part-time may be considered for the right candidate.

You’ll be part of a highly skilled, welcoming team that includes Ophthalmologists, Associate Specialists, Optometrists, Optometry Technicians and Orthoptists — all passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and helping each other grow.

Main duties of the job

Role

As an Optometry Technician, you’ll play a key role in supporting our clinical teams across the RUH Eye Clinic and Frome Medical Practice. Day-to-day, you’ll learn to carry out a variety of important eye-health tests and assessments, such as:

  • Measuring visual acuity
  • Completing visual field tests
  • Capturing retinal and anterior chamber images
  • Performing OCT (optical coherence tomography) scans
  • Supporting biometry measurements

You’ll also help with essential administrative tasks, working closely with our Senior Optometry Technicians to keep our clinics running smoothly.
