DSP Role Summary
The Oracle E-Business Suite Database Administrator will deliver all aspects of support to our customers. We are looking for someone with 3-5 years’ experience as a DBA, including Oracle E-Business Suite, who is looking for an opportunity to grow and develop within a company like ours. We have lots of employees within the team with 20+ years experience, so this would be a great opportunity for an individual to learn from some of the best in the industry and develop both professionally and within DSP. The role is based from home, we work on a combination of consultancy and support engagements. Participation in an on-call rota would be required.

Successful candidates must be willing to participate in mandatory security and compliance training on time, understand and comply with information security and data protection policies, cooperate with security investigations or audits, and promptly report any suspected security incidents or breaches.
Experience and Background
- Demonstrable experience working as an Oracle E-Business Suite DBA, including delivery of: reactive support; proactive support and maintenance; patching; cloning and support for the implementation of new Oracle E-Business Suite functionality.
- Strong core DBA skills including installation, configuration, performance tuning, RAC, Data Guard and RMAN.
- Demonstrable experience in upgrading Oracle E-Business Suite and related technologies.
- Experience with Other Oracle technologies.
- Experience with OCI, AWS or other cloud vendors.
- Previous experience of working within Managed Services and a support services environment, underpinned by ITIL-based working practices. The candidate would ideally be certified at Foundation level for ITIL, but training to achieve this will be provided if required.
Essential Skills Required
- Install, upgrade, patch, clone and maintain all aspects of Oracle E-Business Suite.
- Oracle RDBMS 10g – 19c and associated tools.
- This is a client-facing role and requires the ability to build and maintain good relationships with a wide variety of customers.
- Ability to handle the pressures of delivering Oracle support in a services business, an ability to multitask and an ability to work with and for multiple clients on a daily basis.
- Proficient O/S skills (Linux/Unix/Windows)
- Strong Shell Scripting and SQL skills.
- Excellent all-round computer systems competence, including Microsoft Office, to support the consultant’s day-to-day activities.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work with and knowledge share within a team and create technical documentation as appropriate.

Desirable Skills
- Previous experience of working within a support services environment, underpinned by ITIL-based working practices. The candidate would ideally be certified at Foundation level for ITIL, but training to achieve this will be provided if required.
- Linux administration knowledge.
- Experience with Other Oracle technologies.
- Experience with OCI, AWS or other cloud vendors.

Location and Special Requirements
- Home based with occasional travel to a customer or DSP office (Leeds, Nottingham, London) as and when required.
- You must be eligible to pass security clearance due to the nature of our work and the customers we deal with.
