Location: Oxford (Hybrid, 1 day per week onsite)

Description: Oracle DBA needed. 12 month contract. Inside IR35. Up to £525/day. Oxford, 1 day per week onsite.

We're recruiting for two Oracle DBA contractors to join a small, focused database team working on critical national digital infrastructure. This is a hands-on, technical delivery role with real ownership, not a generalist "data platform" position.

The role:

  • Administer, tune and secure Oracle database environments in production
  • Manage backup, restore and disaster recovery processes
  • Own indexing, performance tuning and monitoring
  • Support a live legacy system migration
  • Manage database access permissions

What you need:

  • Proven Oracle DBA experience in a production, enterprise environment
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of indexing, performance tuning, backup/restore, monitoring and replication
  • Experience through at least one database version migration
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have, not required: Postgres, SQL Server, MySQL, or Terraform. This is fundamentally an Oracle-first role, so we won't screen hard on these.

  • Up to £525/day, dependent on experience
