Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize mission-critical Oracle database environments. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, disaster recovery readiness, operational excellence, and optimal database performance through expertise in Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, Performance Tuning & Optimization, and RMAN Backup & Recovery. The successful candidate will also support enterprise database security, lifecycle management, and business continuity while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.
What you will do
- Administer, maintain, and support Oracle database environments across production, testing, and development.
- Design, implement, and manage Oracle RAC configurations to ensure high availability, scalability, and failover capabilities.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain Oracle Data Guard environments, including physical and logical standby databases, switchovers, and failovers.
- Monitor database performance and proactively troubleshoot issues affecting system health, availability, and reliability.
- Analyze SQL execution plans and optimize database performance through tuning and bottleneck identification.
- Monitor database resource utilization and recommend performance improvements.
- Develop and execute Oracle RMAN backup and recovery strategies to ensure disaster recovery readiness.
- Perform backup validation, recovery testing, and disaster recovery exercises.
- Manage database patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle activities with minimal business disruption.
- Implement and maintain database security standards, user access controls, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and support teams to resolve database-related issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and best practice guidelines.
- Participate in on-call support, incident management, and root cause analysis activities as required.
- Support database automation and infrastructure management initiatives where applicable.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting enterprise environments.
- Extensive hands-on expertise with Oracle RAC administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience implementing and supporting Oracle Data Guard, including setup, monitoring, maintenance, switchovers, and failovers.
- Advanced knowledge of Oracle Performance Tuning & Optimization, including SQL tuning, AWR, ASH, ADDM, and execution plan analysis.
- Extensive experience with Oracle RMAN Backup & Recovery, including backup strategy design, restoration, recovery testing, and disaster recovery planning.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within complex Oracle database infrastructures.
- Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical database environments.
- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data replication, synchronization, or migration projects is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of HashiCorp Vault for secrets management, database credential management, and security integration is preferred.
- Experience with database automation, scripting, and infrastructure management tools is advantageous.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise database platforms is preferred.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Master (OCM), or similar Oracle certifications are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
