Oracle Database Engineer
Contract: 12 Months
Based: Christchurch
Hourly Rate: £55.31 PAYE or £74.68 Umbrella inside IR35
Hours: 37 hours Monday – Friday
Onsite: Monday – Friday
BAE Systems is currently recruiting for an Oracle Database Engineer to join our Christchurch site on a long-term contingent basis. This role will complement an established team of around 45 engineers supporting a fully integrated Command and Control system for the Ministry of Defence.
Skills:
- Proven experience with systems development lifecycles and development processes
- Strong Oracle database knowledge, including design, modelling, and performance tuning
- Experience using SQL and database packages
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team

The Job:
- Contribute to all stages of the systems development lifecycle
- Support development processes including requirements, design, implementation, and acceptance testing
- Design and implement Oracle database solutions
- Develop and maintain database tables, packages, and SQL scripts
- Monitor and enhance Oracle database performance
- Carry out database administration tasks
- Monitor Oracle updates, engage with Oracle for patching, and support vulnerability management
