About The Role

Our established client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Developer to join their expanding team. This role is integral to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of their core Oracle-based systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Oracle PL/SQL development, with extensive experience in large-scale information systems environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects within the financial industry, contributing to the development of robust, scalable, and efficient database solutions. The Senior Oracle Developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, system architects, and project managers, to deliver high-quality technical solutions aligned with business objectives. The role also involves participating in configuration management activities, ensuring the integrity and consistency of system configurations across environments.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have approximately 10+ years of comprehensive experience in Oracle PL/SQL development, demonstrating a deep understanding of database design, optimization, and performance tuning. Proven experience working within large-scale information systems environments is essential, particularly in the financial sector. Candidates should possess a strong grasp of configuration management principles and practices. A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with relevant tools and technologies such as Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, and version control systems is advantageous. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement complex Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers to support business applications.
  • Optimize database performance through effective query tuning and indexing strategies.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and system architects to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Maintain and enhance existing database systems, ensuring stability, security, and high availability.
  • Implement and manage configuration management processes to ensure consistency across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Identify and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner, providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team to promote best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest Oracle technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and innovations.
