About The Role

Initially offered as a 2-3 month contract, this position offers flexibility regarding working hours and employment status, welcoming both part-time and full-time candidates. The role is outside IR35, emphasizing its contractor-friendly nature. The successful candidate will serve as an Oracle Service Cloud Developer, primarily responsible for supporting the development, configuration, and enhancement of Oracle Service Cloud solutions. This role requires a blend of technical development and system configuration skills to deliver scalable, efficient, and customer-centric service solutions. The ideal candidate must be able to obtain DBS clearance if necessary, ensuring compliance with security standards. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, troubleshooting platform issues, and supporting integrations with third-party applications, all aimed at optimizing customer service operations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or demonstrate equivalent commercial experience. Certification in Oracle Service Cloud is highly desirable, reflecting a strong foundation in the platform. Candidates should have proven experience developing and configuring Oracle Service Cloud (RightNow), with a focus on creating custom fields, objects, and data models. Knowledge of SQL and database design is advantageous, alongside familiarity with APIs (REST/SOAP) and integration processes. Professional certifications related to Oracle Service Cloud or related platforms will be considered a significant asset, validating the candidate’s technical expertise and commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and administer Oracle Service Cloud (RightNow) applications to meet business requirements.
  • Design, create, and maintain custom objects, fields, tables, and relationships to support tailored customer service processes.
  • Develop and configure business rules, workflows, and automation processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Configure workspaces, reports, dashboards, and user interfaces to facilitate user engagement and data visibility.
  • Support data management activities, including data imports, exports, and integrity checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze needs, and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform, configuration, and data issues promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Support integrations between Oracle Service Cloud and third-party applications, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.
  • Document technical designs, configurations, and development activities for future reference and compliance.
  • Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing, and deployment activities to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
  • Ensure all solutions adhere to Oracle best practices, security standards, and organizational policies.
