About The Role
Initially a 2-3 month contract, this role offers flexibility for either part-time or full-time engagement, depending on the candidate's availability and preferences. The position is outside IR35, providing potential contractors with advantageous working terms. The successful candidate will serve as an Oracle Service Cloud Developer, responsible for supporting the development, configuration, and enhancement of Oracle Service Cloud solutions. This role requires a blend of technical development and system configuration expertise to deliver scalable and efficient customer service platforms. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in configuring Oracle Service Cloud, creating custom fields and objects, developing business processes, and supporting customer service operations. The role involves working closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions, troubleshooting platform issues, and supporting integrations with third-party applications. Candidates must be able to obtain DBS clearance if necessary.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or hold equivalent commercial experience. Certification in Oracle Service Cloud is highly desirable, demonstrating a validated understanding of the platform and its capabilities. Candidates with additional certifications or training related to Oracle Digital Assistant, Oracle Fusion applications, or API integrations will have a competitive advantage. Proficiency in SQL and database design is also beneficial, supporting effective data management and migration activities.
Responsibilities
- Configure and administer Oracle Service Cloud (RightNow) applications to meet business needs.
- Design, create, and maintain custom objects, fields, tables, and relationships to support business processes.
- Develop and configure business rules, workflows, and automation processes to streamline customer service operations.
- Configure workspaces, reports, dashboards, and user interfaces to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
- Support data management activities, including data imports, exports, and integrity checks to ensure high-quality data standards.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform, configuration, and data issues promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
- Support integrations between Oracle Service Cloud and third-party applications, ensuring seamless data flow and functionality.
- Document technical designs, configurations, and development activities for future reference and compliance.
- Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing, and production deployments to ensure smooth implementation of solutions.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to Oracle best practices, security standards, and organizational policies.
