The Role

The WMS technical support lead will play a pivotal role in the ongoing support, maintenance, and implementation of change to the WMS component of the Equip Solution for HSCNI. The technical support lead acts as the lead for support of this key component of the equip solution and will provide direction to the TCS support teams on support of the associated integrations and reports plus any PaaS extensions that have been implemented as part of the WMS solution.

Your Responsibilities:

Service Support

  • Achievement of TCS service levels in line with contractual service SLA within WMS
  • Configuration fixes and changes within WMS modules
  • Customisation fixes and changes within Oracle eBusiness modules
  • Incident handling and management for WMS modules
  • Problem handling and management for WMS modules
  • Change handling and management for WMS modules
  • Delivery of WMS components as part of Service Releases
  • Update service desk applications with status of allocated incidents, problems and changes
  • Provision of updates to Service Manager
  • WMS information for Application Management operational and contractual reports

Business Analysis:

  • Provide techno-functional expertise and guidance to the project team on Oracle WMS.
  • Ability to interpret the client requirements for ongoing change and support the design, configuration, and customization of Oracle WMS modules to meet those business requirements.

WMS Reporting support:

  • Support to the reporting analysts with regards to reports from WMS. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with regards to the reporting suite from WMS

WMS Integrations support:

  • The WMS technical support lead will work with the Integrations support team to help troubleshoot technical issues and provide the expert guidance from a WMS perspective to help resolve reported incidents.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate closely with functional and technical leads to ensure technical requirements are seamlessly integrated into the overall implementation plan when required for future change.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders to manage expectations and provide regular updates on the progress of defect and problem resolutions into the service management team with regards to issues raised on WMS.

Governance and Best Practices:

  • Establish and enforce adherence to Oracle WMS best practices with regards to system configuration. Promote the use of standardized Oracle WMS functionality and solutions to minimize customizations and support scalability.

Risk Management and Issue Resolution:

  • Identify risks related to WMS and proactively implement mitigation strategies. Address and resolve WMS related escalations promptly to avoid project delays.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience

Inbound Processes & Configuration

  • Hands-on experience in configuring and supporting the following inbound warehouse processes:
    • Purchase Order (PO) Receiving
    • Advanced Shipment Notice (ASN) Processing
    • Cross-Docking
    • Directed Putaway
    • Transfer Order Receipt
    • Return Material Authorization (RMA) Receipt Processing

Outbound Processes & Configuration

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end outbound fulfilment processes:
    • Sales Order Fulfilment
    • Transfer Order Fulfilment
    • Wave Planning
    • Picking
    • Packing
    • Shipping Execution
    • Carrier and Label Printing Integration

Inventory Operations & Configuration

  • Proficient in warehouse inventory control and optimization processes:
    • Cycle Counting
    • Replenishment
    • Inventory Adjustments
    • Stock Transfers
    • License Plate Number (LPN) Management
    • Inventory Visibility and Control

Core WMS Configuration Knowledge

  • Capable of designing and configuring warehouse structures and operational rules, such as:

    • Warehouse Structure Setup
    • Facility Structure
    • Warehouse Locations
    • Zones
    • Aisles
    • Bays
    • Bin Locations
  • Warehouse Task Configuration

    • Task Types
    • Putaway Rules
    • Picking Rules
    • Allocation Strategies
    • Inventory Control Parameters

Technical Skills

  • Good technical expertise to work effectively with integrations, reporting, and troubleshooting activities.

Integration Knowledge & Reporting

  • Knowledge of WMS APIs (XML/JSON, REST/SOAP APIs)
  • Knowledge of underlying Oracle WMS core tables
  • SQL Query Development
  • Candidate with a knowledge of Oracle SCM and Voice time is preferred
