Role Overview

Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent

Play a key role in ensuring that people living in the city are supported to have good oral health. Join our small yet but dedicated team to facilitate the promotion of good oral health to all living within Leicester City. Our service aim to reduce health inequalities between different populations in Leicester by understanding the barriers faced by communities and working with them to overcome them.

As part of the Oral Health Promotion Service within the Public Health team, you’ll encourage settings such as nurseries, pre-schools, childminders, primary schools and others, particularly those in areas of high deprivation to participate in the Supervised Toothbrushing Programme.

Based either at home or at City Hall, you’ll be positively contributing to the maintenance and uptake of the supervised toothbrushing programme, whilst contributing to a wide range of oral health promotion activities.

This is a full time, permanent, working 37 hours per week over 5 days, with the ability to work occasionally outside normal office hours, e.g. for meetings, training delivery, parents evenings, events, etc. You’ll have flexibility in hybrid working being both office based, at City Hall or working remotely from home.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work with early years providers and schools within Leicester to promote the supervised toothbrushing programme.
  • Provide guidance and governance to those already participating in the programme, including the provision of additional promotional activities within their setting.
  • Engage with early years providers and schools who do not participate in the supervised toothbrushing programme in a targeted manner.
  • Provide ongoing support via training, phone calls, emails and in person visits.
  • Engage with key stakeholders including dental practices, public health teams, NHS organisations and Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations to raise awareness of oral health issues and deliver the oral health programmes in the city.
  • Conduct training sessions to explain health concepts, ensuring they are engaged and understand the key messages.
  • Support the team to develop and promote key national campaigns.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
