Location: Bristol / Remote, with ad-hoc travel to Portsmouth

Contract: Until March 2027

IR35: Inside IR35

Rate: £650-700/day

Clearance: SC cleared role

We are currently seeking an experienced Ordnance Munitions and Explosives (OME) Engineer.

This is a specialist engineering role requiring strong experience across EOD, weapons, munitions and/or explosives, with the ability to provide authoritative technical advice and deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate technical requirements and define technical deliverables and engineering documentation for OME systems.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice across OME engineering activities.
  • Compile technical data and oversee the technical quality of engineering documentation.
  • Apply relevant OME legislation, regulations, policies, processes and standards, including DSA02.
  • Identify and analyse technical hazards and project impacts.
  • Contribute to risk reduction measures and ensure risks are appropriately documented and managed.
  • Manage the disposal and decommissioning of OME equipment.
  • Support and participate in assurance, audit and technical review activities.
  • Consider through-life support requirements and associated costs.

  • Strong and demonstrable experience in EOD / weapons / munitions / explosives.
  • Wide-ranging experience providing technical advice and delivering successful OME engineering/science outcomes.
  • Experience leading technical delivery and providing authoritative engineering/scientific advice.
  • Professional registration at a minimum as one of:
    • IEng – Incorporated Engineer
    • RSci – Registered Scientist
    • RMarTech – Registered Marine Technologist
    • CPhys – Chartered Physicist
