Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives (OME) Engineer
CCL Global is recruiting an experienced Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives (OME) Engineer to support a major UK defence engineering programme.
The role will provide specialist OME engineering expertise across the acquisition, design, assurance and through-life support of complex weapons, general munitions and pyrotechnic systems.
Location: Bristol – Hybrid
Contract: Inside IR35
Security Clearance: SC required
Key Responsibilities
- Develop technical requirements and engineering deliverables for OME systems.
- Provide specialist technical advice across weapons, munitions and energetic systems.
- Lead and influence engineering design reviews.
- Manage technical hazards, engineering risks and risk-reduction activities.
- Lead testing, verification, validation and evaluation (V&V).
- Apply relevant OME legislation, regulations, policies and standards, including DSA02.
- Support system certification and compliance with applicable Defence Standards.
- Manage engineering assurance, audits and technical reviews.
- Support modification, through-life support and eventual disposal/decommissioning of OME equipment.
- Interface with engineering teams, industry partners and other technical stakeholders.

Essential Experience
- Strong professional experience within OME engineering/science.
- Proven delivery of successful OME engineering outcomes.
- Experience providing specialist technical advice and leading technical delivery.
- Knowledge of relevant OME legislation, regulation, standards and engineering assurance.
- Experience within one or more areas such as complex weapons, energetic materials, munitions, fuzing & initiation, rocket propulsion, warheads, pyrotechnics or OME/platform integration.
- Professional registration at a relevant level, such as IEng, RSci, RMarTech or CPhys.
