The Role

We create category leaders. And you can't lead a category if you're invisible when people search.

The future of marketing isn't about winning individual channels — it's about being discoverable wherever people search, scroll, ask and explore. Google, TikTok, YouTube, Amazon, ChatGPT, and Pinterest. Every platform is now a search engine.

As an Organic Media Strategist, you run the strategy. You own the strategic direction of your accounts — turning audience insight into integrated plans across SEO, Social and Digital PR, and leading the channel and craft teams who bring them to life.

You're also the storyteller. Analysts find the insight — you bring it to life, turning data into a story clients believe in, buy into and invest behind. You communicate insight and great work like no other.

At Rise, we separate Demand from Discovery. This role makes sure brands are present the moment demand turns into search — the obvious choice throughout the Search Journey. This isn't a traditional SEO strategy role.

What does good look like?

  • Owns the strategic direction of the account.
  • Runs regular strategy sessions, aligns PR, social and onsite teams around priorities, and proactively identifies opportunities.
  • Works closely with Client Services to develop commercial recommendations, budget allocation and growth opportunities.
  • Regularly communicates performance, ideas and next steps to both clients and internal teams — and does it like no other.

Key Objectives

  • Own the strategic direction of every account in your portfolio.
  • Develop integrated Organic Media strategies that drive commercial growth.
  • Turn audience insight into Search Journeys, content strategies and channel priorities.
  • Be the storyteller of the account — turning analyst insight and data into narratives that win client belief and investment.
  • Align PR, social and onsite teams around one set of priorities.
  • Maximise discoverability across Google, AI platforms and social search.
  • Define KPI frameworks and success measures across Organic Media.
  • Identify content, authority and visibility gaps that create opportunity.
  • Prioritise investment across SEO, Social and Digital PR based on audience behaviour and commercial impact.
  • Lead strategic planning that aligns every Organic Media discipline behind a single roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

Organic Media Strategy

  • Own the strategic direction of your accounts — the strategy starts and ends with you.
  • Build strategic roadmaps that guide Organic Media activity across SEO, Social and Digital PR.
  • Run regular strategy sessions, quarterly planning, workshops and ongoing strategic reviews with clients.
  • Develop integrated Search Journey strategies that connect audience demand with commercial objectives.
  • Create KPI frameworks, channel playbooks and measurement plans.
  • Work closely with Client Services to develop commercial recommendations, budget allocation and growth opportunities.
  • Proactively identify opportunities — before the client or the data asks the question.
  • Personally lead solutions for new business pitches – helping form organic media strategies for new clients.
  • Always have 3–6 month roadmaps in place for clients.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Present roadmaps and strategy plans that close the gaps between clients and category leaders.
  • Benchmark performance and lead monthly reporting on what we did, the impact of it and what we are doing next.
  • Create organic defend/grow/innovate plans broken down by category and pain points (which categories we defend because they already hold visibility, which we grow, and where we innovate).
