The Role
Our Organic Search Strategists play a crucial role in driving our clients’ organic performance. They help shape our clients’ SEO and GEO strategies from the first day they are onboarded with us. They have a broad knowledge of each aspect of search, however they have a particularly strong strategic mindset.
As an Organic Search Strategist you will help to define our clients’ SEO strategy outlining what our focuses should be, and how we work with client teams to achieve the performance targets we’ve set. We’re looking for someone who has strong technical SEO experience, to lead on site migrations and complex technical SEO audits.
You will also be able to lead and communicate regularly with the account team to help everyone understand how we are performing and how each of their efforts are contributing to the client’s overall search performance.

Objectives
- Lead and direct the SEO account teams and ensure all team members understand the client’s SEO performance and the strategy you have helped set
- Externally, be the main SEO contact for client teams and help them understand the business / commercial benefits of our proposed SEO activity
- Alongside Client Directors & Project Managers, be involved in creating client roadmaps and regularly check in on progress across all SEO activity
- Know your client’s organic landscape better than anyone else; understand their challenges, what the key opportunities for growth are and what role SEO and GEO plays in their marketing activity
- Be genuinely passionate and excited about the activity and the results we’re delivering for our clients; share these updates with the rest of the agency at every opportunity

Responsibilities
- Prioritise workflows – playing a key role in driving organic performance, you will know where the key gaps are and what aspects of organic search we should be focusing our efforts on and how that fits into a SEO roadmap
- Create SEO strategy documents that clearly outline our 3, 6 or 12 month plans and how we will look to deliver growth – present and share these regularly with the account team
- Own technical SEO for your clients, running regular tech audits and implementing actions, and leading key SEO projects such as site migrations and international expansion plans
- Lead on local SEO strategies where relevant, helping brands to rank for relevant local terms across Google, Apple Maps, and LLMs
- Own keyword and commercial content strategies for clients in order to drive growth for their business
- Regularly use in-house and third-party competitor tools to carry out keyword and opportunity analysis, and outline future opportunities we should be exploring with the client
- Work closely with our content, GEO, and PR teams to ensure the execution of SEO plans
- Regularly contribute to connective3’s marketing activity through SEO and GEO thought leadership to help strengthen our organic search proposition
- Brief the wider account team on any key findings that could help to inform their own approach
- Alongside the account team, be heavily involved in monthly and quarterly performance reviews; contribute key SEO insights to slide decks and confidently talk through planned initiatives
Skills & experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in SEO, ideally within an agency environment.
- Strong technical SEO expertise, with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues across crawlability, indexability, JavaScript rendering, structured data and Core Web Vitals.
- Advanced working knowledge of Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs and other SEO tools.
- Strong understanding of JavaScript and its impact on search engine crawling, rendering and indexing, with the ability to investigate and resolve JS-related SEO issues.
- Hands-on experience with technical SEO crawlers such as Screaming Frog, including large-scale crawls, log/data analysis, custom extraction and identifying actionable technical issues.
- Confident working with large datasets and using technical analysis to identify trends, diagnose problems and translate findings into clear, prioritised recommendations.
- Proven experience supporting website migrations, from SEO planning and pre-launch audits through to implementation, testing and post-launch monitoring.
- Experience working with international websites and brands, including international SEO, hreflang, site architecture and market-specific considerations.
- Able to work closely with developers, content teams and other stakeholders to turn technical SEO recommendations into practical solutions and measurable improvements.
