Organisation Design Consultant | Interim | Full time from early August
Blue Astral is a boutique organisation design and talent advisory firm. We work with founder led and investor backed businesses at the point where growth has outpaced the organisation they built to get there.
We are looking for a mid career organisation design consultant to join a live engagement, working alongside our senior OD lead.
The engagement
A private equity backed, multi site UK business scaling toward a value creation event. The work is a self contained design sprint: making visible how the organisation works today, surfacing where decisions actually get made, and framing the big design decisions that will shape the organisation it needs to become. A board checkpoint in late September, with the completed high level design in the autumn.
What you would be doing
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
- Working very closely with one of our inhouse senior OD design leads (learning opportunity)
- Leading structured data gathering: organisation structures, spans and layers, capability and cost by function, and evidence of where decisions really get made
- Building and owning the data room, the stakeholder map and the analysis the design work runs on
- Preparing and supporting workshops, and carrying stakeholder interviews alongside the wider team
- Working shoulder to shoulder with the client's own people, building their capability as you go
- Standing up the project spine: plan, RAID log, status reporting
What we are looking for
- Real organisation design experience: current state analysis, operating models, decision rights, structure and accountability
- Comfortable with data. You can get to a defensible baseline quickly from imperfect inputs
- Credible with executives without needing to be the loudest voice in the room
- Full time availability from early August through the autumn
- Consulting or in house transformation background. We are not precious about which

What this is not
Not a permanent role. Not a template exercise. We do not turn up with a framework and ask the client to fit it. The client has little prior experience of consultants and we intend to keep it that way in the best sense: everything is done with the organisation, not to it.
Terms
Interim engagement, day rate, discussed openly in the first conversation. Travel required to the North West (3 days a week) for workshops and interviews.
If this is your kind of work, apply with your cv directly. There is no portal and no form.
