Organisational Design Specialist – 2x 12-Month Fixed Term Contracts (Hybrid, 2/3 Days On-Site in Manchester)

The Role
As an Organisational Design Specialist, you will shape how work operates across MAG, designing organisational structures, operating models, and ways of working that align with our strategy and enhance efficiency.

You will collaborate closely with senior leaders, People Partners, and transformation teams to:
- Diagnose organisational challenges (e.g., decision rights, workflows)
- Develop future-state models, structures, roles, and governance
- Coordinate change programmes and advise leaders on data-driven decisions
- Track impact and outcomes of design changes
Key Responsibilities
- Lead organisation design activity in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- Apply data, insights, and benchmarks to address organisational effectiveness
- Partner with senior leaders to shape and streamline operations
- Deliver clear recommendations with evidence-based reasoning
- Build organisational design capability through frameworks and tools
- Contribute to enterprise-wide effectiveness initiatives
Requirements & Success Factors
Must-Have Experience & Skills
- Strong organisation design (OD) or organisational effectiveness experience
- Ability to translate strategy into practical organisational solutions
- Experience applying OD, consulting, or business analysis approaches (diagnosis, design, interventions)
- Experience using data and qualitative insights to inform decision-making
- Strong ability to influence leaders and stakeholders in diverse environments
- Collaboration and adaptability to juggle multiple priorities

Desirable (But Not Essential)
- Experience supporting large-scale transformations
- Knowledge of workforce analytics or dashboards
- Cross-functional or multi-location operational backing
- Familiarity with OD tools (OrgVue/OrgLab) or programme methodologies
