About us
Mates in Mind is a UK charity dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, with a particular focus on sectors with a higher risk of suicide. Since its launch, the charity has worked with over 1,000 organisations, supporting employers of all sizes to build positive mental health cultures and address the stigma that can prevent people from seeking support.
We believe that improving workplace mental health requires more than raising awareness. It means helping organisations create environments where people feel supported, psychological safety is prioritised, and positive change becomes part of everyday working life. We are looking for an experienced Organisational Psychologist to help shape the future of the Mates in Mind programme, bringing together organisational psychology, research and practical expertise to support organisations in making meaningful and lasting improvements to workplace mental health.
About the role
As our Organisational Psychologist, you will play a key role in shaping and strengthening the Mates in Mind programme, making sure it continues to reflect the latest evidence and best practice in organisational psychology, behavioural science, workplace culture and mental health.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
