JEGI LEONIS is a leading M&A advisor to companies across the global technology, software, media, and business services sectors. The firm works with founders, financial sponsors, and multinational corporations on a wide range of strategic transactions, providing professionals with exposure to high-profile clients and complex advisory engagements.

Primary Responsibilities

Business Development Associates at JEGI LEONIS are responsible for sourcing and developing new M&A and capital advisory opportunities across the technology and technology services sectors. The role focuses on building relationships with founders, executives, financial sponsors, and other market participants while supporting the firm's business development efforts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Drawing on existing technology sector relationships and experience to develop new business opportunities for JEGI LEONIS
  • Originating M&A advisory opportunities within middle market software, SaaS, and technology-enabled companies
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive coverage strategy across financial sponsors, accounting firms, law firms, and direct company outreach
  • Building and maintaining relationships with founders, executives, investors, and other intermediaries to identify potential transaction opportunities
  • Managing outbound business development activity and maintaining an active pipeline of prospective clients
  • Collaborating with senior bankers to qualify opportunities, coordinate outreach efforts, and support the firm's origination strategy

Specific Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong communication and relationship-building skills, a demonstrated interest in business development and transaction origination, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong commercial judgment, excellent organizational skills, and the confidence to engage professionally with senior executives, investors, and other market participants.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, asset management, enterprise software sales, business development, or a related client facing role
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in outbound business development, relationship management, or origination
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to sourcing and developing new business opportunities
  • Familiarity with financial statements, financial modeling, and M&A transactions preferred
