Dental Specialists MK is a multi-disciplinary dental group providing NHS and private care across three centres in Milton Keynes, St Albans, and Melton Mowbray. The team includes specialists in Periodontics, Orthodontics, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Oral Surgery, and Implant treatments. The practices serve patients from South East England, East of England, and the East Midlands, offering accessible specialist care to diverse communities. Dental Specialists MK focuses on high-quality, patient-centered treatment in a professional and collaborative clinical environment.
Role Description
This part-time, on-site Orthodontist role is based in Bletchley and involves providing comprehensive orthodontic assessments and treatments to NHS and private patients. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing malocclusions
- Developing treatment plans
- Fitting and adjusting orthodontic appliances
- Monitoring patient progress

The Orthodontist will collaborate with other dental specialists to coordinate care, maintain accurate clinical records, and ensure adherence to clinical governance and regulatory standards. The role also involves:

- Supporting the education of trainee dentists with a special interest in Orthodontics and Trainee therapists
- Working with the Oral Health Educator and therapists in educating patients on oral health, treatment options, and appliance care
- Contributing to a supportive and respectful practice culture
In addition, there will be Research carried out as part of our Research in Primary Care settings with papers produced and published in peer-review journals and presented at National and International conferences.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine and Dentistry, with the ability to integrate general health considerations into dental treatment planning.
- Specialist expertise in Orthodontics and Treatment planning, including diagnosis, appliance selection, and long-term case management.
- Proficiency in providing high-quality Dental Care, focusing on patient safety, comfort, and evidence-based clinical practice.
- Recognized dental degree and full registration with the relevant dental regulatory body (e.g., GDC or equivalent), with specialist registration in Orthodontics or equivalent training.
- Proven experience in clinical orthodontic practice, ideally within NHS and private settings, and familiarity with UK clinical guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and with diverse patient groups.
- Commitment to continuing professional development, ethical practice, and maintaining accurate and thorough clinical documentation.
