We are looking for an organised and proactive Loan Kit Coordinator to support Orthopaedic Theatre services. The post holder will coordinate the planning, ordering, and management of loan kits, implants, and specialist equipment required for surgical procedures. Working closely with clinical teams, suppliers, and support services, you will help ensure the right equipment is available at the right time, supporting safe and efficient patient care while maintaining accurate records and financial controls.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will coordinate all aspects of orthopaedic loan kit management, including planning equipment requirements for surgical procedures, liaising with consultants, theatre teams, suppliers, and sterile services, and ensuring kits are available when required. Responsibilities will include raising requisitions and purchase orders, maintaining accurate records, resolving queries, monitoring expenditure, and ensuring compliance with agreed processes, financial procedures, and traceability requirements.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge
  • Understanding of basic professional purchasing principles and procurement technology.

Desirable criteria

  • NVQ Level 2 Customer Care
  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) Level 1, 2

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience with the Oracle Purchasing System
  • Experience of NHS procurement principles
  • Experience of receipting process
  • Methodical, reliable, and well-organised
  • Computer literate with advanced spreadsheet skills
  • Experience of working in NHS

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of Orthopaedic surgical procedures, acquired through training
