About us
Steyning Osteopathic Clinic is run by Osteopath, Jen Nash. We're a small, friendly practice in the heart of Steyning, West Sussex. The clinic has been part of this community for over ten years, and we're proud of the loyal, long-standing relationships we've built with our patients. It's a genuinely lovely place to work: one treatment room in a beautiful 400 year old building, a settled and appreciative patient base and none of the corporate feel you get at bigger healthcare chains. We're a small team at the moment - myself and Mia, our McTimoney chiropractor - and we're now looking for another osteopath to join us.
The role
This is a part-time, self-employed role, starting with 2 half days a week. You'll be doing what osteopaths do best: thorough assessments, hands-on treatment and helping patients understand and manage their own recovery. Day to day, that means taking case histories, developing treatment plans tailored to each person in front of you, delivering osteopathic techniques, and keeping clear, accurate clinical notes.

The right candidate has
- A recognised osteopathic qualification and registration with the General Osteopathic Council
- Solid hands-on skills and safe, effective technique across a range of presentations
- A good grounding in anatomy, physiology, and pathology as it relates to musculoskeletal and general health
- A patient-centred, empathetic way of working - you really listen
- Confidence managing your own caseload and keeping tidy clinical records
- A genuine interest in keeping learning - courses, new evidence, better ways of doing things
Nice to have: we'd particularly love someone with skills in sports massage or soft tissue therapy, and a good working knowledge of exercise prescription and strength & conditioning. Our patient base skews a little older, but we're keen to bring in a broader range of patients too, including younger, more active people, and those extra strings to your bow would help us do exactly that.

A bit more about the right fit
Steyning has a real village feel, and so does the clinic. Our patients value being known and listened to, so this suits someone warm and unhurried in how they work, rather than someone chasing volume. That said, if you've got an interest in sport, movement, and strength work, there's real scope to grow that side of the practice with patients who'd benefit from it. People love to have a chat during treatment, so the right person is happy to talk to everyone and anyone!
Hours & pay
Hours and days can be flexible to suit the candidate's schedule if needed. Our preference is Thursday evenings 3-7pm and Saturday mornings 9-1pm with room for expansion as your list grows. We offer a split of 55% to you, with capacity to go to 60% for a well maintained consistently busy list.
