Rate: £800 - £1000
Overview
We are seeking an experienced OT Cyber Security Consultant to support the assessment, design, implementation, and optimisation of secure Operational Technology (OT) environments across complex industrial and critical infrastructure settings.
This role will focus on improving the resilience, security, and performance of OT environments while supporting cyber security programmes, digital transformation initiatives, and IT/OT convergence activities.
The successful contractor will work closely with engineering, operations, cyber security, and technology teams to identify risks, strengthen security controls, and deliver improvements across industrial control environments.
Due to project requirements, candidates must hold active SC Clearance, be a sole UK national, and must not have spent more than 28 consecutive days outside the UK within the last 5 years.

OT Security & Consultancy
- Conduct OT cyber security assessments, gap analyses, and risk reviews.
- Identify vulnerabilities affecting industrial control systems and critical infrastructure environments.
- Develop OT security architectures and remediation strategies.
- Support OT incident response, recovery planning, and business continuity activities.
- Ensure alignment with recognised OT security standards, frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
OT Architecture & Engineering
- Assess and review existing OT infrastructure and operational environments.
- Support the design and optimisation of industrial control system architectures.
- Provide guidance across SCADA, DCS, PLC, and HMI environments.
- Advise on industrial networking, communications technologies, and IT/OT integration.
- Evaluate OT assets and identify opportunities for performance, resilience, and security improvements.
Required Experience
- Strong Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control System (ICS) experience.
- Experience within critical infrastructure, utilities, energy, manufacturing, or other industrial environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of:
- SCADA
- PLC
- DCS
- HMI
- Industrial Networks
- ICS Environments

Mandatory Requirements
- Active SC Clearance
- Sole UK National
- No more than 28 consecutive days spent outside the UK within the last 5 years
- Ability to work in a hybrid delivery environment
- PAYE via Umbrella engagement
